Description

This is a module on migration, focusing on Northeast Asian migration, through the disciplines of anthropology and history. In this course we cover a range of topics of interest to the field of Northeast Asian migration such as Korean (North and South) and Japanese migratory movements, post-colonialism, identity, gender, and diaspora. The course covers the historic trajectory of twentieth century Northeast Asia, from the early 1900s to the present. At times the course reaches into the fields of sociology and political science to fill out the picture of contemporary approaches to the study of migration in Northeast Asia.
